We don't know what to say other than, "Wow!"

Hopefully BOTH of your daughters will have occasion to read it.InspectorClouseauhttp://www.theviewfromoutsidemytinywindow.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439647783347819362.post-51546321525488151382013-07-14T03:24:35.790-04:002013-07-14T03:24:35.790-04:00It was good to hear of your note to your father
Do...It was good to hear of your note to your father
Douglas. It does no harm to have the emotion of love (for just a few people)
over-ride other functions of the mind, like reason and so on, in our personal
lives. I am going to get my 75th birthday card from at least one of my
daughters in a couple weeks, and wondering what i can do to prevent the other
daughter from living to regret not sending me one...

I never fell out, not once, with my father. On
the other hand we held not a single conversation beyond brief pleasantries
- we were both unable. What could you do?

I talked like crazy, well, like it was going out of
fashion, to daughter Penny (the one who has divorced me), and love was not absent, but
we sang too many songs to each other. Now i love the father i might have
had, whether i knew it or not, and was kept sane by the silence. Or
probably not..

What do YOU think Georgeper? My mother said he walked around all that day clutching that card. My father and I had a rocky to distant relationship. We never saw eye to eye on anything, it seemed. It took me many, many years to understand him in even the little way I began to in my 50's.
We should not only honor our mothers and fathers but appreciate, respect, and love them as they truly deserve.Douglas4517noreply@blogger.com
