Indeed, it is idiotic and even insane to imagine that the actions of the US do not produce reactions.

Moreover, you rightly point to the insanity of imagining that those who believe that lies can be deemed acceptable or even appropriate in times where they are counted as expedient cannot be trusted.

This is true not only of those who perpetrate the lies, but also of those who condone or accept them. The US citizenry has largely accepted lies as a means to desired end. Thus, what the founding fathers warned has been shown true, that our system of government cannot work effectively without a religious and godly people.

Ron Paul has shown himself to be a man who is consistent and trustworthy, or at the very least makes this his objective. Thus not only is he rejected by the elite of the political machines and of the media, but also by most Americans. By and large people do not want anyone messing with "the ends justify the means."

But then, this is because of their near-sighted ignorance of what the ends really are.Paul Siemsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439647783347819362.post-63170703392211017452011-09-27T10:27:23.989-04:002011-09-27T10:27:23.989-04:00Wsteffie, it's just pure common sense. You can not occupy someone else's land, use their resources, and interfere with their economic system (even if their, non-elected, non-democratic leaders allow you to do so), and not expect some negative ramifications. There are consequences to all things in life, and for any of our leaders to suggest that we bear no responsibility, and that folks in that part of the world just dislike us, western civilization, or that Islam has been hijacked by extremists, is not a responsible way to approach this problem, although it might satisfy many U.S. citizens and political leaders.InspectorClouseauhttp://www.theviewfromoutsidemytinywindow.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439647783347819362.post-51277063012257429192011-09-26T04:12:32.884-04:002011-09-26T04:12:32.884-04:00I'm with Ron Paul, the Islamic world's ant...I'm with Ron Paul, the Islamic world's antipathy toward the U. S. is in some part due to it's policies in the Middle East. Furthermore, the antipathy towards the US is growing over here as well. While after his election President Obama was largely seen as a man who would bring peace to the world and positive change to the US he's now viewed much different.

Wsteffienoreply@blogger.com
