Actually, ...He's still blaming his predecessor. Actually, it appears he's delegated that chore to his staff and the random sycophant. The Roman Empire lasted about 400 years, the last 200 being fairly troublesome. It was replaced by the Holy Roman Empire (Popes instead of Caesars) which probably lasted longer... maybe until Martin Luther hammered those issues on the door.
